PURPOSE

The African American Wine Tasting Society (AAWTS) has experienced phenomenal growth across the nation since its inception in 2002. AAWTS is a national, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of individuals who “simply enjoy wine, and want to enjoy wine simply”™! Our organization's focus is on exposing individuals to an array of wines in a comfortable, relaxed and unpretentious setting. We believe that moderate consumption of wine enhances and enriches everyday life.

Although our members are predominantly African American, we are a
diverse group of individuals who share a common interest in learning about wine. AAWTS Membership is open to anyone!

Mission and Vision

The African American Wine Tasting Society, Inc. has a mission of enhancing its members’ wine knowledge and enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere, open to all.

We are committed to furnishing unbiased knowledge about the cultural legacy of wine and wine tasting.

Our Vision is to be the premier source for African Americans and others interested in learning about wine. Essential to success is our duty to focus on the needs of our members and sponsors. We support the achievement and professional development of African Americans and minorities in the wine industry and affiliated businesses.
